Annie to embark on a UK tour in 2023! The hit musical will be opening at Curve, Leicester on 25th February 2023.
After its run in Leicester, the production will visit Newcastle, Edinburgh and Birmingham. Then onto Oxford, Southampton and Dartford. Also visiting Stoke-on-Trent, Llandudno and Aberdeen. In addition to, Glasgow, Liverpool and Woking. Then Cardiff, Bradford, Southend, Bromley, and Norwich.
The show has numbers such as “It’s the Hard Knock Life”, “Easy Street”, “I Don’t Need Anything But You” and “Tomorrow”.
Annie has music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin and a book by Thomas Meehan.
Curve’s Artistic Director Nikolai Foster directs the musical, with set and costume design by Colin Richmond. Choreography is by Nick Winston, lighting by Ben Cracknell and sound by Richard Brooker.
The production has previously had a UK tours and runs in the West End and Toronto.
Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, brave young Annie is forced to live a life of misery and torment at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage. Determined to find her real parents, her luck changes when she is chosen to spend Christmas at the residence of famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks. Spiteful Miss Hannigan has other ideas and hatches a plan to spoil Annie’s search…
Casting for the show is to be revealed, with tickets on sale from later this month.
