Disney has announced the full cast list for The Lion King UK & Ireland tour!
The new Simba is set to be played by Stephenson Ardern-Sodje. He made his stage debut in the very first West End cast of Hamilton and is currently part of the Globe Theatre 2021 tour. Ardern-Sodje has already had a career behind the scenes at ITV’s Coronation Street‘s story room and with Idris Elba’s production company Green Door Pictures.
The cast also features Nokwanda Khuzwayo as Nala, Alan Mchale as Timon and Owain Rhys Davies as Ed. Also including, Matthew Forbes as Zazu, Jean-Luc Guizonne as Mufasa and Richard Hurst as Scar. Further casting include, Rebecca Omogbehin as Shenzi, Thandazile Soni as Rafiki, Carl Sanderson as Pumbaa and Simon Trinder as Banzai.
The tour will open in Dublin in December 2021. It will the go on to visit Bristol, Bradford, Cardiff, Southampton and Manchester. With further cities to be announced.
The Lion King UK & Irland tour cast also include: Lwando Bam, Mamido Bomboko Souchu and Khanyisani Beato. Also featuring, Jorell Coiffic-Kamall, Rushand Chambers, Tau-En Chien and Elisa Chou. In addition to, Tevin Daniel, Tim Driesen, Oraine Frater, Adebunmi Gabriel and Brian Gilligan. As well as, Daniel Griffith, Alicia Hayward, Zalika Henry, Caleaf Henson and Olivia Jones. Joining, Melvin Le Blanc, Jochebel Maccarthy, Zanele Mazibuko and Fallon Mondlane. Next, Zanele Ndlovu, Buhle Nkomo, Craig Pedro, Joaquin Pedro Valdes and Connor Pelé Williams. Also, Tara Price, Kyle Richardson, Cristiane Santos De Jesus and Lukin Simmonds. Last but not least, Sherry Tay, Francesca Thompson, Maria Yim and Bukiwe Zinganto.
