Melody Thornton is set to lead The Bodyguard UK & Ireland tour. The former Pussycat Doll will star as Rachel Marron. The tour will be opening at Glasgow King’s Theatre on 28 January 2023. Click here to see all venues.
Melody Thornton previously starred as Marron during a six-month international tour of China. She also appeared in 2018 Dancing on Ice, finishing in the final five of the 2018 series.
The Bodyguard is based on the film of the same name starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner. The show follows a former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, who is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker.
The Bodyguard, directed by Thea Sharrock has a book by Oscar winning Alex Dinelaris. The production had its world premiere at the Adelphi Theatre in 2012, where it was nominated for four Olivier Awards. The show has played to over 3.6 million people in 15 countries and 45 US cities.
