ITV is reported to reboot the musical theatre casting talent show genre back on the TV screens. In 2023 contestants will be competing for a role in Mamma Mia!
A source told The Sun newspaper of plans: “This has been seen as an obvious choice for a reboot for years, but producers were waiting for the right musical and right moment.”
The eight-episode series is planned to debut in 2023 and is being produced by Thames, makers of Britain’s Got Talent.
Contestants will be fighting to be the next west End star, performing for a panel of celebrity experts, with the viewers voting on who makes it through to perform the following week.
