Waitress is opening its 2021/2022 UK tour tonight (4th September), at the New Wimbledon Theatre, London.
The show will star Lucie Jones, returning to the role as Jenna, following the successful west end run at Adelphi Theatre, London. Also returning in the same role will be Evelyn Hoskins as Dawn and Sandra Marvin as Becky. Joining them will be Matt Jay-Willis, who is well known from the UK pop band, busted as Dr Pomatter.
Further casting includes George Crawford as Ogie, Tamlyn Henderson as Earl and Christopher D. Hunt as Cal. The show will also include: Monique Ashe-Palmer, Amelia Atherton, Donal Brennan and Aimée Fisher. Joining them will be Nathanael Landskroner, Charlie Martin, Liam McHugh, Olivia Mitchell and Ben Morris.
Waitress UK tour will begin its journey at the New Wimbledon Theatre, London. It will run in London from September 4th – 11th September 2021. The tour will then travel around the UK and will finish in late august 2022, however further dates are to be added.
The musical tells the story of Jenna, a waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams of some happiness in her life. After she finds out she is pregnant, Jenna begins a love affair with the new doctor in town. Looking for ways out of her troubles, she sees a pie baking contest and its grand prize as her chance. With the support of her fellow waitresses, Becky and Dawn, Jenna overcomes the challenges she faces and finds that laughter, love and friendship can provide the perfect recipe for happiness.
