The cast and creative team has been announced for the world premier of What’s New Pussycat? Musical
The brand new musical will feature some of the most iconic hit songs from Tom Jones. Based on Henry Fielding’s novel The History of Tom Jones. The show will open at Birmingham Rep from 8 October until 14 November.
This romantic musical comedy puts you right in the heart of the swinging 60s. Written by the 2x Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro (Memphis The Musical). Directed by the amazing Luke Sheppard (& Juliet) and choreography from the legendary Dame Arlene Phillips.
The Cast for What’s New Pussycat? Musical includes:
- Dominic Andersen as Tom Jones
- Bronté Barbé as Mary Western
- Ashley Campbell as Mr Partridge
- Julius D’Silva as Lord Allworthy
- Rebekah Hinds as The Girl in the Polka Dot Dress
- Harry Kershaw as William Blifil
- Kelly Price as Lady Bellaston
- Melanie Walters as Mrs Western.
The ensemble cast includes: Tom Francis, Naomi Katiyo and Lemuel Knights. adding to the cast is David Mairs-McKenzie, Lisa Mathieson and Fallon Mondlane. Joining the team is Jena Pandya, Nathan Rigg, Owen Saward and Carrie Willis.
The Creative team includes: Matt Brind as musical supervisor and orchestrator. Jon Bausor on Set Design. Janet Bird on Costume Design. Akhila Krishnan on Video Design. Gareth Owen on Sound Design and Howard Hudson on Lighting Design.
The upcoming musical will include some all time classics of Tom Jones‘ greatest hit songs: ‘Green, Green Grass of Home’, ‘It’s Not Unusual’, ‘Leave Your Hat On’, ‘Delilah’, ‘Mama Told Me Not To Come’, ‘Sex Bomb’ and, of course, ‘What’s New Pussycat?’
