Bugsy Malone UK tour has announced announced its casting! Theatre Royal Bath Productions, Birmingham Rep and Kenny Wax are reviving the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre’s sell-out production of Bugsy Malone. The UK tour will open at Theatre Royal Bath from the 2nd July 2022.
Cast for Bugsy Malone UK Tour
The lead roles have performances with three young casts of seven in rotation. The title role of Bugsy Malone is Shaun Sharma, Gabriel Payne and Amar Blackman. With Blousey Brown played by Mia Lakha, Delilah Bennett-Cardy and Avive Williams. Fat Sam played by Albie Snelson, Isham Sankoh and Charlie Burns. Tallulah played by Taziva-Faye Katsande, Jasmine Sakyiama and Fayth Ifil. Fizzy played by Aidan Oti, Jamie Northey-Dennis and one other performer (yet to be announced). Lena/Babyface played by Cherry Mitra, Kayla-Mai Alvares and Ava Hope Smith. Finally Dandy Dan played by Rayhaan Kufuor-Gray, Kit Cranston and Desmond Cole.
They are joined by adult ensemble members: Georgia Pemberton, Alisha Capon, Lucy Young and D’Mia Lindsay Walker. Also joined by, Jessica Daugrida, Alicia Ally, Alicia Belgarde and Esme Bacalla-Hayes. In addition to, Luchia Moss, Kalifa Burton, Rory Fraser and Andile Mabhena. Aditionally, Thomas Walton, Ru Fisher and Mohamed Bangura. Lastly, Marcus Billany, Luke Mills and Will Lucas.
The production includes direction by Sean Holmes, with choreography by Olivier Award-winning Drew McOnie. Set design is by Jon Bausor and musical supervision, arrangements and orchestrations is by Phil Bateman. Also including, lighting by Phil Gladwell, and sound by Ben Harrison.
Following its run in Bath, the show will visit Newcastle, Southampton, Leeds and Glasgow. Then onto Coventry, Oxford, Sheffield, Leicester and Milton Keynes. Ahead of Plymouth, Hull, Nottingham and Manchester. Finally, Edinburgh, Southend, Cardiff and Canterbury. Further cities will add to this list.
Bugsy Malone is based on the 1976 movie of the same name. Songs include the likes of “You Give A Little Love”, “My Name is Tallulah”, and “Fat Sam’s Grand Slam”.
