Full casting has been announced for Kinky Boots in concert. The concert will take place at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. It closed in the West End at the start of 2019. However, the show has now added a second date: 8 and 9 August 2022.
Written by Harvey Fierstein and Cyndi Lauper, the show follows a young man, Charlie. He deals with the legacy of his father and how to put his best foot forward, while contemplating the future of his shoe-making factory.
Already set to perform in the Kinky Boots concert performance of the piece is Cedric Neal (Back to the Future) as Lola/Simon. Additionally, Matt Willis (Waitress) will appear as Charlie and Courtney Bowman (Legally Blonde) as Lauren.
Also joining the cast are Ahmed Hamad (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) as Harry and Daisy Wood-Davis (Beautiful: The Carol King Musical) as Nicola. Adding to the cast, Duane Gooden (Aladdin) as George/Simon Snr and Graham Bickley (Sunset Boulevard) as Mister Price. Also set to appear are Hannah Lowther (Heathers) as Gemma Louise and Kayleigh McKnight (Heathers) as Trish. Finally, Madison Swan (Heathers) as Marge, Nikki Bentley (Wicked) as Pat and Sean Needham (Wicked) as Don will complete the cast.
The ensemble of Angels will be led by the Referee Angel, Ashley Samuels (Oklahoma! at the Young Vic). Continually, the angels include: Eli Caldwell, Finton Flynn, Jayred Lempriere, Jordan Bennett and Ross Carpenter.
The concert will receive direction from Omar F Okai. Musical direction by Freddie Tapner and design by Ruth Sutcliffe. Alongside those creatives, lighting design will be by Ben Cracknell and sound by Tom Marshall. Casting by Harry Blumenau.
