Mary Poppins to close in London’s West End. Disney and Cameron Macintosh have announced a final extension to the West End run of Mary Poppins. The show’s final performance is set for 8th January 2023.

The magical story of the world’s favourite Nanny! Mary arrives on Cherry Tree Lane to look after the bank residence. Writer Julian Fellowes brings the show to the stage. With dazzling choreography from Stephen Mear and Matthew Bourne. Songs include ‘Jolly Holiday’, ‘Step in Time’, ‘Feed the Birds’ and ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’. In addition to new music by the award-winning British team of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

The piece, currently stars Zizi Strallen as Mary Poppins and Louis Gaunt as Bert. Also starring in the show are: Charlie Anson as George Banks, Amy Griffiths as Winifred Banks and Petula Clark as Bird Woman. Additionally Liz Robertson stars as Miss Andrew and Claire Machin as Mrs Brill. Finally, Jack North as Robertson Ay and Paul F Monaghan as Admiral Boom and Bank Chairman, complete the cast.

Mackintosh said: “When the new revised production of Mary Poppins opened at the end of 2019, with a tremendous cast headed by Zizi Strallen, Charlie Stemp and Petula Clark, the response was even more ecstatic than the original. We had always planned to run two years until the physical production was required elsewhere. But covid managed to stretch our timetable into 2023. Allowing everyone to enjoy an additional supercalifragilistic last Christmas jolly holiday season.”
