The 25th anniversary performance of Miss Saigon has been released on Netflix today (16/11/2021). The production was recorded live on stage at the Prince Edward Theatre, in London’s West End in 2016.

The cast of the recording features Lea Salonga, Jonathan Pryce and Jon Jon Briones. Also appearing Eva Noblezada, Alistair Brammer and Simon Bowman. In addition to Kwang-Ho Hong, Tamsin Carroll and Hugh Maynard. Finally Rachelle Ann Go, William Dao and Paul Benedict Sarte.

The Show is written by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil with music by Schönberg and lyrics by Boublil and Richard Maltby Jr. Miss Saigon is based on Giacomo Puccini’s 1904 opera Madame Butterfly.

Miss Saigon is set in the last days of the Vietnam War. It tells the story of a 17 year old bar girl named Kim who was orphaned by the war. She falls for Chris, an American Gi, but the pair are tragically torn apart by the fall of Saigon.
