Tom Holland is to star as Fred Astaire in the upcoming biopic of Fred Astaire’s life.

It has been announced that Tom Holland has been cast in the role of Fred Astaire in the upcoming film about Fred’s life. Tom Holland says he is delighted to be ‘brushing off the old tap shoes’. Adding to this, Tom said he will be heading back to Pineapple studios in London to recap his tap skills ahead of his role. Holland starred as Billy Elliott in London’s West End at the age of 12. This role consists of heavy ballet and tap ability. Since his west end success, Tom has gone on to become a giant of the big screen. He’s best known for playing the iconic role of Spiderman in the Marvel Films.

Fred Astaire is widely known as the greatest dancer in cinematic history. Astaire was an actor, singer, dancer and choreographer with an outstanding career that spanned over 76 years.

Additionally, Tom says he is really ‘excited’ for his role in the upcoming biopic. However, there are no other details at this current time, except the producer of the film will be Amy Pascal.
