Chris Evans is set to play Gene Kelly in a new film based on the life of the musical pioneer.

Evans is best know for his role as Captain America, in the Marvel franchise. Now Chris Evans sets his sights on the big lights to play Gene Kelly.

Written and produced by John Logan. The film is said to be based on an original concept, created by Evans, which centres on a 12-year old boy who works at MGM in 1952. He creates an imaginary friendship with the Gene Kelly while he works on his next film.

Chris Evans is said to be a big musical theatre fan, having played Randolph MacAfee in the musical Bye Bye Birdie as a child. He made his Broadway debut in the play Lobby Hero in 2018.

No release date has been revealed yet. However you can check out his marvel co-star, Tom Holland, as he is set to star as Fred Astaire!
