Matilda the musical has announced new cast members for its West End production. The RSC’s production is still playing at Cambridge Theatre.
From the 13 September the title role of Matilda will be played by Victoria Alsina, Laurel Sumberg and Heidi Williams.
The role of Miss Honey will be played by Lauren Byrne, additionally Rakesh Boury and Amy Ellen Richardson will join the company to play Mr and Mrs Wormwood.
Current cast members Elliot Harper will continue as Miss Trunchbull and Landi Oshinowo will continue in the role of Mrs Phelps.
New additions to the adult ensemble include Felipe Bejarano, Angeline Bell, Oliver Bingham and Thea Bunting. Also joining, Michael Gardiner, Aaron Jenkins, Sam Lathwood and Dianté Lodge. In addition to, Kira McPherson, Alistair So, James Wolstenholme and Liberty Buckland. Lastly, Kate Kenrick, Connor Lewis and Gemma Scholes.
Newly announced child performers include Mia Atkinson, Leo Babet, Florence Burt and Poppy Caton. Additionally, Zuri-Michel Charalambou, Brodie Edwards, Jude Farrant and Riotafari Gardner. Also joining, Finley Hartlett, Lily Hanna, Tia Isaac and Miley Kayongo. More cast include, Shayla McCormack, Isabelle Mullallay, Jasmine Nyenya and Raphaella Philbert. In addition to, Jack Philpott, Riley Plummer, Jasmine Pottinger-Scott and Ashton Robertson. Lastly, Leon Saunders, Andrei Shen-U Shen, Noah Swer-Fox and Lucia Wratten. While Kylan Denis will remain with the cast and continue to alternate as Bruce.
The musical is now on its 10th year in the West End! With a film adaptation, starring Emma Thompson, due to hit UK cinemas on 2 December 2022.
Written by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and developed and directed by Matthew Warchus. The production is designed by Rob Howell, with choreography by Peter Darling and orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale. Lighting is by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker and special effects and illusions by Paul Kieve.
